The Initial session
On the phone we will ask you to tell us a little about why you are looking for counselling or psychotherapy. The next step is to arrange a time for an initial appointment. During this 1 1/2 hour session you can begin to explore your feelings with a therapist and this will help both of you to get a feel for whether psychodynamic counselling or psychotherapy are the right form of help for you at this time. If you decide to continue, a regular time for ongoing sessions will be arranged between you, either weekly or at a greater frequency.
Our usual fee for this appointment is £45 but, in cases of financial difficulty, this is negotiable. Ongoing fees will be discussed between you and your therapist. We charge according to a sliding scale dependent on ability to pay. We rely on client contributions to be able to continue our work.
